Nine third-years furniture students were given the task to make an all black collection projecting modern day challenges of young designers living in an age of great abundance and, possibly even more, defect an absence.

Raising questions like; Is there still a need for more resource consuming stuff for us to buy? Is it time to concider the explosive growth of technology seeping though in everyday life and our private surroundings? Or, are we so beyond the human pace that we are merely left to identify the latest developments in order to create comprehensive images of our daily convictions and confusions? In short, furniture design as storytelling…

What kind of phoenix will arise from all the parties we had in the past? Following the ‘Reset’ theme of the KABK exhibition at the Salone Del Mobile 2016 the headstrong, and very contemporary, Black Disko Kollektiv decided to [only] participate virtually for now, anticipating to present the collection at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven next fall. All members would likje to thank the KABK and wishes everybody a good one, in Milano!
